Your signature stays on your device
Electronic Signature Online creates signature images and places them on PDFs in your browser. You do not need an account, and the tool does not send your typed name, drawing, chosen signature image, or PDF to a server.
What happens when you make a signature?
Drawing strokes, typed names, and chosen images are held in memory in the current browser tab. The tool uses a canvas to render the signature and your browser to create a PNG or JPG download. In Extract signature mode, your image is read from your device and processed locally, usually in a browser worker. It is not uploaded to the host. Switching between drawing, typing, and extraction keeps each version within that tab.
The site does not use local storage, session storage, cookies, or a database to save your signature. Refreshing or closing the page clears the tool’s working copy. Browser or device features outside the site may manage tabs and downloaded files separately.
What happens when you sign a PDF?
Your PDF is read locally and kept in memory in this tab. Signature images and their page positions are added to a downloaded copy; the original file on your device is unchanged. The PDF libraries and their supporting files are served by this website. No document contents are uploaded. Removing the document clears its working copy; refreshing or closing the page clears the document and saved signatures.
Fonts and scripts are served with the website
The handwriting fonts, application script, and styles are hosted with this site. The signature maker does not request Google Fonts, load an advertising script, or use a third-party analytics service. Reading a linked external guide takes you to that provider’s website and its own privacy practices.
Ordinary website requests still reach the host
Your browser requests the page and its assets from the hosting provider. Like other web hosts, the provider may process connection information such as your IP address, requested URL, and request time for delivery, security, and operations. This is separate from the signature content, which the application does not upload.
What happens to downloaded signatures?
PNG and JPG files are saved using your browser’s normal download process. The site cannot control how your device, backup service, cloud storage, or document editor handles a file after you download it. Anyone with access to the image may be able to copy it, so store and share it thoughtfully.
A signature image is not a verified signing service
This tool creates handwriting images and can place them on PDFs. It does not check a signer’s identity, create a certificate-based digital signature, record a signing audit trail, or submit signed documents. If a document recipient asks for a specific signing service, follow that workflow.
